Valley Hostel in Lauterbrunnen

The Valley Hostel is located in the valley of 72 waterfalls. In fact, there are more than 380 waterfalls, which fall from the surrounding mountains of the UNESCO World Heritage Jungfrau-Aletsch into the valley, to flow immediately rushing in the White Lütschine out of the valley.

The Valley Hostel Lauterbrunnen has 92 beds in 26 rooms, spread over three chalets. You have the choice of staying in a private room or a shared room.

Groups can book one of our chalets exclusively for themselves on request. Each of our chalets has a self-catering kitchen as well as a lounge.

Let your soul dangle and enjoy the peace and quiet: Pure nature and a unique view of the mountains and waterfalls.

Enjoy the fascinating landscape in the most beautiful trough valley of the Alps, be it hiking on the 500km hiking trails or skiing on the 213km ski slopes of the Jungfrau Region.

The Jungfrau Region also offers a wealth of other activities for connoisseurs, sports enthusiasts, families and those seeking peace and quiet. At our reception you can get more information about activities and bookings.

History

On December 27, 1997, the first guests were welcomed to the Valley Hostel Lauterbrunnen and Martha's heart's desire came true. At that time the Valley Hostel Lauterbrunnen comprised one chalet with 53 beds.

Meanwhile, one house has become three houses with a total of 93 beds and 26 rooms.

In 2018, the reins were then placed in the hands of the second generation. The siblings Stefan and Fränzi have taken over the business from their parents.
Middle Earth in the Lauterbrunnen Valley

J.R.R. Tolkien hiked through the Lauterbrunnen Valley as a 19-year-old on his trip to Europe.

Between the steep rock faces, mystical waterfalls and with the almost insurmountable mountain peaks in front of his eyes, he found the inspiration for the landscapes of Lord of the Rings.

Fans of Middle Earth always feel transported back to the film locations of Lord of the Rings on a hike in the Lauterbrunnen Valley.
